Privacy Policy
Last reviewed on 2026-05-09
This page explains what data DaysOfTheWeek.org ("the site", "we") collects when you visit, how it is used, and the choices and rights available to you. The site is run as a free educational reference; running costs are covered by display advertising. The policy is written in plain English on purpose.
1. Data we collect directly
The site is a static publication. There are no accounts, no logins, no comment forms, no newsletter sign-ups, and no e-commerce. As a direct consequence, we do not deliberately collect names, addresses, phone numbers, or payment details from visitors.
If you contact us by email (see the contact page), we receive the information you put in your message — your email address and whatever you choose to write. That message is stored in our email system for as long as is needed to act on it and as required by applicable law.
2. Data collected automatically
Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure receives standard request information when a page is loaded: IP address, browser user-agent string, referring URL, the page or asset requested, and the timestamp. Our hosting provider may use this to deliver the page, defend against abuse, and produce aggregated traffic statistics.
Aggregated traffic data (page views, country, device class) may be reviewed by us to understand which pages are useful and where the site has technical problems. It is not used to identify individual visitors.
3. Cookies
The site itself sets only a minimal number of cookies, if any, for its own functionality. Most of the cookies you may encounter are set by third parties — primarily our advertising partner. See the cookie policy for the full breakdown and opt-out options.
4. Advertising — Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display ads. AdSense and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites, to measure ad performance, and to limit how often a given ad is shown.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Users in countries that participate in industry opt-out programmes may also use aboutads.info or YourOnlineChoices.
- Full details are in Google's advertising policy and in "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services".
5. Third-party vendors
Beyond Google AdSense, the site may load assets from a small number of third parties, for example a CDN that serves static files or fonts. These third parties may receive your IP address and standard request information for the purpose of serving the asset you requested. They are not authorised to use that information for any purpose other than delivering the service.
6. Children
The site is suitable for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us at contact@daysoftheweek.org and we will remove it.
7. Your rights — GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights including:
- Right of access — to ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — to ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — to ask us to delete your personal information.
- Right to restrict or object to processing.
- Right to data portability — to receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising (CCPA), which in our context means opting out of personalised advertising via the links above.
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@daysoftheweek.org. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
8. Data retention
Email correspondence is kept only as long as it is operationally useful or legally required. Aggregated server-log data is retained according to the standard retention windows of our hosting provider; it is not used to build personal profiles.
9. International transfers
Because the site is hosted on cloud infrastructure and uses third-party services (notably Google AdSense), some of the data described above may be processed outside your country of residence. Any such processing is carried out under the standard safeguards offered by those services.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, to reflect a change in the third-party services we use, or a change in the law. The "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page for a reasonable period after they take effect.
11. Governing law
This policy and any disputes arising from it are governed by the law of [Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where local consumer-protection law gives you stronger rights.
12. Contact
For any privacy question or to exercise the rights above: contact@daysoftheweek.org.
